The two largest satellite
services have different parental controls that you can use.
DirecTV:
DirecTV’s Locks and Limits
feature allows you to block by MPAA ratings, specific movies, and
entire channels, as well as to set limited viewing times and establish
spending limits on Pay-Per-View.
- Press the menu button on
your remote, select Profiles, and look for the selections which
indicate Rating Limit, Lock User, Viewing Hours or Spending Limit.
- Follow the
easy-to-understand on-screen directions, which vary by receiver.
- After setting up, you can
easily access the programming you like by entering your PIN.
DISH Network:
DISH Network subscribers must
use the v-chip to block television programs according to their rating.
Additionally, you can block adult channels using their Adult Guard
feature, found in the Locks menu.
